Continuing our commitment to revitalising village centres and creating shared living spaces, we worked on a concrete regeneration project in Joncy. The town wished to redesign its main square to improve the quality of life of its 500 inhabitants by adding a market hall and a public garden, strengthening local facilities and social ties.
Our project creates a hybrid space, the “garden square”, combining a permeable mineral area for events and economic life with a planted area for strolling and resting. It is intended as a social meeting point where long-standing and new residents can come together, strengthening village cohesion. The market hall, with its timber structure and red zinc fins, will host local producers and craftspeople, boosting the village economy.
Designed with respect for the environment and heritage, the scheme includes a landscape design attentive to Burgundian identity, with durable materials, appropriate planting and ecological rainwater management. The project shows that a public square can become a true living heart, fostering social ties and a shared identity.
